Medieval Festival 2 - 10 July 2011

Date Added: 27/06/2011
Step back in time at The Abbey Medieval Festival, Australia's largest medieval festival that commences with the Abbey Medieval Banquet, and ends with the Abbey Medieval Tournament. A special Kids Medieval Fun Day is the mid week highlight for all children up to the age of 12.

Discover jousting and skill at arms, watch combatants taking up armour in front of the castle, Turkish oil wrestling, dancing and sample fine medieval cuisine and crafts.

Immerse yourself in medieval culture amongst the colourful encampments from Viking Raiders and traders, Middle Eastern warriors and nomads, nobles and peasants from great European Households.

A short drive from both Brisbane and the Sunshine coast during Queensland and New South Wales school holidays makes it an ideal activity for families in July.

How To Get There:
Travelling to the Medieval Tournament is an easy 45 minute drive from Brisbane via the Bruce Highway, or a train ride to Caboolture station, where they provide free regular shuttle buses to and from the Tournament.
Trains depart Central Station, Brisbane, to Caboolture, every 30 minutes. Free Tournament buses meet the trains at Caboolture train station.
The Tournament is at UBD Street Directory reference Map 49, N14.
If travelling from the south, take the Caboolture-Bribie Island exit off the Bruce Highway, then move into the Bribie Island exit (152). At approximately four kilometres along Bribie Road, turn left into Old Toorbul Point Road and follow directions for Tournament parking.
If travelling from the north, take the Toorbul/Donnybrook exit off Bruce Highway and turn right down Old Toorbul Point Road.
Persons with a disability should have their sticker clearly visible (for appropriate parking). Free parking is available.
